Table size

Does an APA formatted correlation table stretch out the entire page, or the size of table vary according to the amount of numbers we are putting in? Thanks.

"size your figures to fit within a single journal column unless multiple panels or fine details require them to be the width of the journal page" -section 3.79 of the APA manual, p.188.

so, i would assume that since you have 4 variables, the size of table does not need to stretch to the entire page and does indeed vary according to the number of variables used.

Actually, section 3.79 refers to Figures (graphs, charts, etc.), not to Tables.

Tables must stretch from the left margin to the right margin. In fact, the correlation matrix table example in the publication manual (see p. 153) is also of just four variables, and you will see that it stretches from margin to margin.

Note also that you should take a look at the bottom of p. 170 & top of p. 171 in making your correlation table...but if you didn't see this in time, I will mention it in class and allow handwritten corrections. :)
