Q regarding the article review

Hi,
I read an article using the quantitative reserch review method, and wrote a review under the empirical article review format. I just wonder whether it's ok, or I'd better adopt the theoretical review format.
Thank you.

It is difficult to answer your question without seeing the article. However, I'd choose the format based on what information is included in my article. For example, for the empirical format, you'll need to include hypotheses, statistical method, a description about the sample (number, age, ethnicity, gender), etc. If you article does not include most of these elements, I would do the non-empirical format. If it includes most (but not all) of them - make sure to note what is missing, i.e. "The article did not include the participants' ethnicity." That way, we know you didn't forget it.

Note that statistical method/analyses might well be grounded theory with information about frequency and intensity of themes or nodes.

Then I would stay with the empirical format.
Thank you.
